EasyRPG fails to load large .zip files

Attempting to load compressed .zip file of latest Yume2kki version fails to recognize the presence of a game. Uncompressed version in a folder recognizes and loads the .ldb file just fine.

This behavior is consistent using both the libretro core on Android/Windows and the Player executable for Windows, so I assume this is a limitation of EasyRPG itself, and not the platform, and it’s caused most likely due by a filesize limit - latest Yume2kki version (0.128h Patch6) is over 5 GBs in size.

Which brings me to a question - what is the actual filesize limit for .zip files for EasyRPG?
I might attempt shrinking the .zip by using Ultra compression preset and/or converting all .wav files into a different format, but I want to know whether it’s worth doing it in the first place.

Hello. Thats actually a limit of the ZIP format. The normal ZIP standard only supports up to 4 GB (2^32). Anything larger is a ZIP64 file. That format is not implemented. And honestly we never expected that any game will require this…

You could try creating a TAR archive instead. Thats another format we support by now. (but this requires the continuous build available at the bottom of the download page, not supported by 0.8.1.1)

I see, thanks.
I’ll probably just convert all the .wav files into something more reasonable, considering the Music folder takes up 5 out of 6.1 GBs of game data, even if the end result would be lossy.
