so i got the program installed on my linux pc from source code. and the game im trying to play, “Violated Heroine” doesnt show the characters, no pic for them or something, as well as error codes saying it cant find certain sound files. the game runs but im missing a bunch of stuff. i tried using both the original jap rtp and the new one on rpgmakerweb.com. in both, i get the same thing. i tried extracting the files with the jap locale, in case i wasnt getting a clean extraction and still no luck. im sure im missing something but i cant, for the life of me, figure out what it is
Could you upload the easyrpg_log.txt? You find the file in the game directory (or one folder up).
How did you install the RTP? Is it through Wine or do you use the environment variables? (RPG2K_RTP_PATH)
with wine. i also tried merged the files directly into the game and added the fullgame tag into RPG_RT.ini (i dont recall the extact spelling of the tag right now)

It looks like the path is not picked up from wine prefix.
i get the exact actor 14 error which causes the game to hang. i extracted the rtp files to the correct directory so i know that’s not the issue. The game plays fine up to a certain point then hangs due to actor 14. i can then f12 reload the save and play some more until the next time i talk to some npc or an event triggers. without this one error the game would be 100% playable. please help resolve the issue.

Which game is this? As I read retropie: Did you manually compile 0.6.2.1? The official retropie release is outdated.
it’s for Violated Heroine (200423) i did not manually compile easyrpg but i did update all the cores with
git clone https://github.com/libretro/libretro-super.git
cd libretro-super
./libretro-fetch.sh
not sure how current that is.
I was assuming that the item 53 error was due to something in the games item/armor scripts but a previous version of VH was hanging the same way. so either i’m doing something wrong or the app is.
i tried to build from git following the directions here ( https://wiki.easyrpg.org/development/compiling/player/autotools ) but receive an error

my repository only has fmt version 5.2.1
i cant find a newer version of fmt for arm. i am running a rasberry pi4
Hello. versions of libfmt before 5.3 did not support pkg-config. That’s why we don’t support them. You can get a newer version (6.1) from Debian backports repository.
Or you use our stable release, this doesn’t depend on libfmt yet: Use tag 0.6.2.1 and liblcf 0.6.2.
The libretro build is a bit behind. Is still on 0.6.1. Had no time yet to properly update it. You can build the core on your own with cmake btw (use option -DPLAYER_TARGET_PLATFORM=libretro)

liblcf installed with cmake.
the player 0.6.2.1 I had to install using the autotools makefile method.
I appreciate the help tho i’ll tinker around with the game some more and see if i can figure it out.
The actor and equipment stuff is harmless.
Is the hang with event 0 gone? That one is the critical.
Yes i figured it out. 0.6.2.1 installed fine i just wasn’t launching it right. My emulationstation link to easyrpg is broken. When running easyrpg from the directory i installed it in using pixel desktop everything is ok. I forget how to do symlinks and all been awhile since i’ve used unix/linux but it works now so i’m happy.
