Help with EasyRPG for 3DS

When attempting to launch the player, the bottom screen flashes through multiple different colors, before stopping at a bright red, which it will stay on until I force power down the console.

I am on an O3ds with firmware 11.0.0-33U, and running the .3dsx via the homebrew launcher 2.4.3 via the music player exploit. (*Hax 2.8)

I have followed the installation instructions to the best of my ability, but they weren’t very clear. I have places the RTP in both the easyrpg and “Data” folder.

Hi,
is there a reason, why you do not use a CFW (Luma) on your 3DS?
We do not test without it anymore, so it likely is broken for a while now.

The last time I tried to install a CFW (Luma+Rosalina), my 3DS became almost completely unresponsive, and the only thing I was actually able to do was toggle the power light, and uninstall it.

Any further attempts to install a cfw have resulting in, well, nothing. No error, it just sends me back to the homebrew launcher, but this probably isn’t about that.

What’s the last version of EasyRPG for 3DS that HAS been tested without a CFW? If one is required, it would be nice for it to actually say so.

Just because it is not tested without CFW, does not mean it is required.
However, we cannot tell you what is the problem in your case, since we do not have the same setup. I think it is a good idea and I will add a word about CFW on the download page.

I remember there were problems with memory access for early homebrew, this might be the same problem. The homebrew menu README actually warns about this in the first paragraph:

Before 0.8.1 we have shipped an xml file to select a target application (so the memory problem could be mitigated), but this is untested and likely broken as well.

The XML file tells the homebrew launcher to inject in the YouTube app because it is large enough to fit our application.

But as c1 said this is untested since a long time.

When custom firmware hangs your system try with a different SD card. Maybe it is faulty.
