I am trying to play an RPG Maker 2000-2003 game, Vampire Girl Quest, from Vampyou, and I think I am missing something. The game still runs, but not everything is loaded or translated on the macos
.
Hello you must download and extract the RTP 2000 and RTP 2003 from here: RPG Maker RTP Downloads | RPG Maker | Make A Game! (these are shared assets).
The RTP can be put either in “$HOME/.local/share/rtp/2000” (or 2003) or set the environment variable RPG2K_RTP_PATH (and RPG2K3_RTP_PATH) to the paths where the RTP is.
I tried that already with whiskey downloaded the rtp and it does not change do i need to change location or something. also the game is a windows rpg 2000-2003 game and I also have whisky
I also dont want to mess with terminal
If you don’t want to mess with terminal, you just need to mess with the GUI to access to a hidden folder, as the Finder hides them. Select the go to folder in the Finder menu, or from the docker icon directly:
Then type /Users/YOURNAME/.local/share and press enter. Note Users is uppercase U and yourname must be the name you use there.
Once you are in the share folder, create if not exists, a folder called rtp, then enter the rtp folder and inside that folder create two folders: 2000 and 2003. Then put them the uncompressed folders of the RTPs. You can try The Unarchiver app to uncompress the RTP installers, but I didn’t try if it is easy to do.
thanks panorama/evening 2 is missing but it still works
